Are there websites/links that I could visit to check the results of my sports book Vegas bets?
Posted on December 2009 in betting websites
I live in TX, but I recently went to Vegas and placed various NFL bets. I’m not too familiar with what the lines & points mean and what not, and I was wondering if there were websites that I could go to to check the results of my betting tickets. I went to Caesar’s Palace and place some sports bets, but I don’t know where to go to check the results of my bets. Anyone have an idea? Holla!
Your ticket tells you what you bet on. So go to ESPN (or one of a thousand sports websites) to see the results of the games.
What are you asking? You made some crazy parlay wager and don’t know if you won? They why would you have made the bet?

Do online betting websites/bookmakers (not exchanges) charge commission on winnings?
Please give a source if you have one.
Examples of bookmakers are bwin.com ; bet365.com ; paddypower.com
Thanks!
No, they do not charge a commission. The bookmakers make their profit based on the ‘juice’ or ‘vig’. This is why you must risk 110 to profit 100. You win 100, while the person that loses that wager loses 110, the bookie takes in 220, but only pays out 210 making a profit of 10. That is instead of the commission structure of an exchange.

Any sports ‘trading’ style betting websites like tradesports.com exist nowadays?
Posted on November 2009 in betting websites
I used to use that site a lot some years ago, but I see it’s defunct now. The gimmick there was that sporting events were bought and sold like stocks, so you can sell any lines you owned at any point in the game for a profit/loss.
Anyone know of any sites that operate in this style?
Yes, although I’m not sure that any are still accessible to US residents. I believe Betfair is the largest, but it’s not open to the US.
Check the wikipedia article on betting exchange (which is what this system is called).
