I lost a bet and I won’t back out but is this fair?
Posted on December 2009 in bet fair
I said cheerleading isn’t a sport and girls cant beat guys in sports. They bet if I lost to one of them in basketball they get to make me into a cheerleader for as long as they want. If I won, then this cheerleader Cathy had to be my maid for as long as I want but she beat me. We only have girls cheer here and they wear the usual short skirts and tops. I hate backing out of bets and dares, but this is pretty crazy right?
Cathy said I have to wear "hair ribbons lots and lots of glitter eye shadow and lip gloss a skirt so uh do sumthing with your legs of course you are gonna have to wear make up! cheerleaders have to grab attention and stand out in a crowd!" Is all that fair??
it seems like she expects me to cheer at the games and spirit rallies dressed like a cheer girl. is that fair? I hope everyone knows I’m a guy?
do you really think they should be allowed to make me dress as a cheergirl at the games and everything? they wear those uniforms to school on game days and spirit rally days is it fair to make me do that too?
I swear I’m not Ruby or whatever
You made the bet so wear the lip gloss!

The E-Book Fairytale
Posted on December 2009 in bet fair
Junk. There’s a lot of it out there, and you had better be prepared to fall over your fair share of it if you intend to do any kind of business online.
That’s not to say that there aren’t also nuggets of gold out there but you’ll have to go to the end of a lot of rainbows to find them.
The key to building any kind of successful business online always has been and always will be information.
The reason the internet has taken off the way it has is because it allows anybody from anywhere to access information about what interests them and whether you are buying a new TV or subscribing to a newsletter what you want is the best information available to help you make the right decision.
This is no secret, and it is the reason why information products have been a big growth industry for the online gurus. At anywhere from $27 to $197+, you can buy this ‘How To…’ guide or that ‘…Secrets Revealed’ e-book and truth be told some of these are invaluable in what they can offer but sadly some are just junk.
It is really important, in terms of securing your own success, that you take these products for what they are and never put all of your eggs in one e-books basket.
So how do you know if what you’re being sold is information gold or just junkyard scrap?
Firstly not every quality piece of information is for sale. There is tons of great, free advice available. You may think that no one would really give away high quality info for free but you’d be wrong. In fact many people use exactly that method to establish themselves as leaders in their fields and encourage you to visit their sites.
Testimonials are great and can give you an insight into what the literature has helped other people to do but remember, nobody is going to put a bad review of their product on their site so the best thing for you to read is actually an excerpt from the book. Some authors will actually circulate a page or 2 of their work to encourage new readers. If you can’t find anything then you can always just ask and if their work is as great as they say it is then they should have no reason not to show you a page or 2.
Once you have purchased/downloaded the e-book make sure it does what it says it does.
The content of the book should be exactly what the title and sub-headings claims it will be. If you find it going off on a different tangent then it’s a safe bet that the information will lead you off in different directions too.
Lastly pay close attention to the little things like punctuation and grammar. It may not seem important but think about it: If a person hasn’t taken the time to make sure that their work is professionally presented what else might they not have been bothered to do? In the multi-national world wide web there will always be some discrepancies for example the differences between UK-English and American-English spellings, but other than that there really is no reason why the work should be sub-par.
If you are ever in doubt about the advice you’re receiving don’t be afraid to ask for clarification. Check with people you know, ask in the forums even email the author of the book and ask them for more information. If you’re still not sure then follow your instincts, put the book down and move on to the next rainbow.

Florida Win Averts Bcs Nightmare!!
Posted on November 2009 in bet fair
The big question everyone is asking is â what happened to Ohio State? Everyone is talking about how the Gators demolished the Buckeyes to win the 2006 BCS College Football Championship. The Gators seemed like they were in a different league than the Buckeyes. And, the truth is, they are.
The 41-14 final score makes the game seem closer than it was. Half of the Buckeyes 14 points came from their opening kick-off return. After that play, the Buckeyes were completely dominated in every phase of the game. Florida had 370 total yards to Ohio State’s 82. The Buckeyes’ Heisman Trophy quarterback Troy Smith was held to only 4 pass completions (2 in each half); 35 passing yards; 1 interception; 0 touchdowns. The BCS Championship game was the worst game in Troy Smith’s career.
It’s not a coincidence that the National Championship game was also the first time Troy Smith had ever been on the same field with the speed and power of a Southeastern Conference (SEC) football team. I bet a lot of Buckeye players celebrated the day after the game. Celebrated the fact they likely will never again play on the same field with a team from the SEC.
There is an old saying that “practice makes perfect.” Playing in the SEC, Florida gets lots of practice. In 2006, the Gators had the toughest schedule in the nation (.643 opponents winning percentage). Florida beat four Top-25 teams (LSU, Arkansas, Georgia and Tennessee) and lost to a fifth– #9 Auburn. Additionally, they beat four other bowl teams (Alabama, South Carolina, Kentucky and Florida State). So, before last night’s game, the Gators had already played against NINE other bowl teams.
Ohio State? Well, the Buckeyes play in the Big Ten and therefore only faced three Top-25 teams all year. They averaged over 36 points and 410 yards a game against mostly weak opponents. Ohio State simply was unprepared for the talent and intensity of a team like Florida. Gators defensive end Jarvis Moss said after the game that four or five SEC teams could beat Ohio State. I wouldnât go that far, but it is true that all nine SEC teams Florida faced (including Vanderbilt) played the Gators tougher than Ohio State did.
You need more proof the SEC is in a league of its own? O.K. Since the advent of the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) system, the SEC leads all conferences (by a wide margin) with a 10-4 BCS bowl game record. SEC teams are an undefeated 3-0 in BCS National Championship games. In this past college football season, the SEC:
1. Led the nation with six teams in the final AP Top-25 poll. No other conference had more than four.
2. In the regular season, the SEC had an incredible 41-7 non-conference record. This .854 non-conference winning percentage was the best in the nation.
3. Had the most teams selected for bowls (9) and the most bowl wins (6). No other conference had more than 4 wins. Only the SEC (and Big East) had winning bowl records. Even the three SEC bowl losses were close games that could have gone either way. Significantly, SEC bowl teams face higher seeded teams from other conferences. For instance, the Chick-fil-A Bowl has agreements with the SEC and ACC to select the # 5 SEC team to face the # 2 ACC team. The Music City Bowl pairs # 7 from the SEC against # 5 from the ACC. Yet, the SEC still dominates the bowls year after year. [For more information on SEC Football, go to http://www.secsportsfan.com/sec-football.html ]
The most amazing thing about the National Championship game was not what happened on the field. The most amazing (and scary) thing is that Florida almost wasn’t picked to play in the game. In the narrowest of decisions, the BCS barely selected Florida over Michigan to play Ohio State for the National Championship.
Everyone remembers the outcry from our Michigan (and other Big Ten) friends when Florida was picked over the Wolverines. [Check out http://www.secsportsfan.com/BCS-gotitright.html for more about that.] Of course we also now know that Michigan went on to lose decisively to USC in the Rose Bowl.
In retrospect, it is clear, for all to see, that Ohio State vs. Michigan in the National Championship game would have been a national disgrace. Unfortunately, the reality is that a similar tragedy has happened in the past and will happen again in the future.
Why? Simple. SEC Football is so tough that it is virtually impossible for an SEC team to get through the regular season without at least one loss and without nearly losing a few other games. The SEC Champion invariably emerges from the crucible of an SEC schedule as a true champion, but bruised and battered. When the pollsters and computers combine to select which two teams will play in the BCS National Championship, a lesser team may appear more impressive than the SEC Champ due to a weaker schedule.
Many pundits underestimated Florida this year because they struggled to win several SEC games. Another example is 2004 when Auburn went 12-0 in the regular season (13-0 after their bowl victory), yet failed to qualify for the BCS Championship game (Oklahoma was picked over Auburn because some of Auburn’s wins were not perceived as impressive enough).
America was lucky last night that the right team ended up in the BCS Championship Game. But, the BCS system virtually guarantees future unfairness. A college football playoff system is the only way to truly fix the problem.
Well, not the only way. Another option would be to have the SEC Champion automatically qualify for the National Championship game. While not the best solution, it would be more fair than the current system.

Try These Tips When Choosing To Buy Bamboo Flooring
Posted on November 2009 in bet fair
Bamboo flooring continues to grow in popularity around the world as more and more homeowners realise the environmental benefits it offers. However, choosing bamboo flooring is an aspect many have difficulty with mainly because there is no major point of reference a consumer can turn to as with traditional flooring methods.
Not all bamboo flooring is created equal. Hardness, quality and price are all aspects that need to come under consideration as well as where and whom you purchase your product from. Let’s examine some guidelines you need to take into account before purchasing.
Quality Control
Consider how long a manufacturer has been in business. The longer the better is usually a good guide. In fact, distinguishing between a manufacturer and an importer is important. If you live in the USA for example, dealing with a locally established company gives you the advantage of knowing they are producing flooring from inception to finish and you can build a relationship with them.
On-going maintenance issues can be more easily dealt with and if a problem such as damaged goods occurs, then replacement of product is usually just a phone call away.
Importers work on the principle of finding stock for you at the most convenient prices which is an advantage in one respect, but dealing with them can be risky because they could be in business today, yet gone tomorrow. If a problem arises, who do you turn to?
Hardness Factor Of Bamboo Flooring
One of the attractions of bamboo flooring is it’s durability. However, with over a thousand species of bamboo, how do you know which one to choose. Dealing with a manufacturer in this instance is a big plus because they have done their homework. A company which has been in business for several years will have settled on a product which has been successfully used by many homeowners. They have taken the guess work out of the equation for you.
Bamboo Flooring Price
There doesn’t seem to be a standard price set for bamboo flooring. Pricing can range from as low as $2 a square foot up to $8 or even higher. Dealing with an established manufacturer has extra benefits and even if you are paying a little extra per square foot, it’s a fair bet your product will meet all the specific standards set such as environmental guidelines and quality control standards.
Where To Next?
Try this simple three step process when searching for a reliable bamboo flooring manufacturer:
1. How long has the company been in business? For future customer support, setting a five year limit should get you away to a good start.
2. Contact information. Be wary of dealing with internet based operators who don’t have an established phone contact. You want to be able to phone a number and at least speak to a real person. Be careful with email only contact.
3. Finally, as mentioned before, if the company manufactures in-house then put them on your list.
Bamboo flooring is fast becoming the new wave choice for many home owners. It’s a big investment so don’t be too hasty in making decisions during the shopping phase.

Traveling With the Kids
Posted on November 2009 in bet fair
A family vacation is a special time in which to make wonderful memories and enjoy time away from the stress of everyday life. Enjoying a destination far from home is a blessing that should be appreciated. However, when you have a car full of children to tow along with you that can be a challenge. Keeping the kids entertained in the car requires some planning ahead and creativity. Nobody wants to listen to kids fighting and whining when they could be quietly entertained. Traveling with children can go smoothly.
Never leave home without a fair supply of healthy snack foods and drinks. Itâs likely that the kids will be complaining of hunger before youâve even left your home town so plan ahead for the munchies. Stock a small cooler with ice packs to keep everything fresh. Items like fruit, granola bars or cheese and crackers all make great snacks that are relatively mess free. It might be best not to bring messy food in the vehicle. A spill could get smelly and delay your progress. Juice boxes are always a safe bet as well as water bottles with a cap that closes tight.
Leaving early for your trip is usually a good idea. If you get everyone into the car early enough then you might be able to get the kids to sleep for a few hours while you drive. It also helps you made good time so that you can hopefully reach your destination before dark. Pack the car the night before you plan to leave so all you have to do in the morning is get the kids all buckled in.
Many parents have already discovered the joy and convenience of having a DVD player in the car. It can keep the kids quiet for hours on end. Bring a stack of their favorite movies or buy a couple of new ones especially for the trip. It will give them something to look forward to and keep everyone quietly entertained rather than arguing or complaining. Some DVD players make it possible to hook up a video game system as well which could be another fun alternative.
Older children might appreciate a good book to read while stuck in the vehicle. Others may like coloring books and markers to hold their attention. These items are great for older children that are not stuck in a baby seat or booster seat. Smaller kids might prefer a new toy that is interactive somehow. It should be something that they can easily hold and work themselves.
Make sure to schedule in regular bathroom breaks. Children cannot wait as long as adults to use the restroom so donât get caught in between towns with a child that is crying to use the facilities. Mapping out bathroom stops ahead of time can help you to plan how often you will be passing through an area with bathrooms. Traveling with the kids can actually be a lot of fun with the right planning and a positive attitude.
